The St. Ambrose University Interprofessional Clinic started in 2015 with the goal of providing rehabilitation services to those in the community who do not have access to care. This may be due to no health insurance, high co-payments and deductibles for rehabilitation services, or those who have exhausted their therapy coverage and still have needs.

Who We Serve
We provide rehabilitation services to adults in the Quad Cities region who meet one of the below indicators.
- Do not have insurance or insurance plan does not cover rehabilitation services.
- Unable to purchase insurance due to American citizenship status (refugees).
- May have insurance, but are unable to find a provider who will accept their insurance (Medicaid patients)
- May have insurance, but due to financial reasons, the deductibles and/or copayments are prohibitive to receive rehabilitation services.
- May have insurance, but have exhausted coverage for needed therapy services
If a potential client has insurance and is able to receive care in the community, we encourage them to receive care at a local rehabilitation center. Their care will be provided by a licensed professional and they can receive multiple sessions of services during the week.
Services We Provide
We provide rehabilitation services to patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury, and other neurological conditions that require help with movement, activities of daily living, communication/speech, eating, balance, and function.
We have students from the following health science programs involved in providing care.
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Speech language pathology
A licensed social worker is available to support our clients and assist with finding community services.
Student Led Care
Care is provided by students enrolled in our health sciences programs. A licensed professional is present at all times providing direct supervision of care.
No Cost Care
Care is provided at no cost to the client. Students volunteer to serve in the clinic or work in the clinic as part of a course requirement. We are a Royal Neighbors Community Chapter and receive funding through this organization and through fundraising events.
