Promoting Respect in Sexual Minorities

Promoting Respect in Sexual Minorities (PRISM) is a group for LGBTQQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual) students and allies.

PRISM strives to create a sense of community and a safe space on campus for LGBTQQIA+ members. The group promotes respect and education to inform students and the community on LGBTQQIA+ rights and issues.

Members coordinate an AIDS/HIV testing event on World AIDS Day (Dec. 1), attend Iowa Safe Schools "Day at the Capital," lobby at the Iowa capital with local legislators, and attend the Quad Cities Pride Festival.
