What is the Center for Teaching Excellence in Cybersecurity at SAU?

The Center for Teaching Excellence in Cybersecurity at St. Ambrose University supports excellence in cybersecurity education through applied learning, hands-on laboratory experiences, interdisciplinary collaboration, and industry engagement. The Center serves as a hub for cybersecurity education, student research, workforce development, and community outreach initiatives aligned with current industry and government workforce needs. 

About SAU's Center for Teaching Excellence in Cybersecurity

The Center promotes experiential learning through coursework, labs, simulations, digital forensics investigations, network security analysis, secure scripting, and cybersecurity capstone projects. Students engage with real-world cybersecurity concepts including ethical hacking, incident response, digital forensics, network defense, risk management, and cybersecurity law and ethics.

The Center supports the following academic programs and related coursework within the Department of Computer and Information Sciences: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity
  • Computer Science programs with cybersecurity-related coursework 
  • Networking and systems administration coursework related to cybersecurity operations and defense
