Magdalena Gjeleva Hasley is a professor of Nursing in the College of Health and Human Services.I’m Magdalena Gjeleva Hasley, a Registered Nurse based in Davenport, Iowa, with a diverse clinical background, specializing in operating room nursing for cardiovascular, general, urology, gynecology, and endoscopy surgeries. I’m currently working full-time at East Genesis HealthCare, where I provide perioperative care, and patient assessments, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
I have also gained valuable experience as an Anesthesia Technician at UnityPoint Health and as a Nurse Anesthetist at Cardio Surgery Hospital Filip Vtori in Macedonia, further developing my expertise in anesthesia and patient recovery management. In addition, my background in med-surgical nursing has strengthened my commitment to patient advocacy and safety.
In terms of my education, I earned my Associate's degree in Nursing from Scott Community College, where I graduated as an honor student. I’m an honor student who graduated in 2024 from Chamberlain University with a Master of Science in Nursing, where I maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA. I’m certified in ACLS, BLS, and CPR, and have proficiency in a variety of medical procedures, EHR systems, and patient care techniques.
Currently, I am also serving as a clinical instructor at St. Ambrose University, teaching Health Assessment. In my role as an educator, I focus on providing hands-on, interactive experiences that help students understand the core principles of compassionate and patient-centered care. I love connecting with students on-site, where we can explore how to deliver high-quality care in real-world settings. My goal is to help students see the direct impact their learning can have on improving patient outcomes.
