Sunday, April 2
Quad Cities World Cultures Festival
Rogalski Center Ballroom
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The Quad Cities World Cultures Festival (QCWCF) features performances by individuals and groups of various cultures from the Quad Cities area and will be held in the Rogalski Center Ballroom on Sunday, April 2. The QCWCF is one of the oldest and largest cultural festivals in the Quad Cities area and presents an opportunity to invite ethnic minorities and underrepresented groups in our region. This event is sponsored by the St. Ambrose University International Studies program and the World Affairs Council of the QC. Contact Duk Kim for more information.

Humanize My Hoodie Documentary Screening

The Humanize My Hoodie movement stands for challenging the negative perceptions of Black and Indigenous People of Color while wearing a hoodie.

Barriers to DEI at SAU and Problem-Solving (For Faculty)

Facilitated by William T. Lewis, PhD, this discussion will provide faculty from across the university an opportunity to share hurdles to DEI at St. Ambrose and how to address those hurdles. Information at this session will influence the faculty and staff development opportunity at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Contact Rachael Suddarth to be included in the Google invite.

Creating an Academic Culture of Belonging (For Faculty and Staff)

Facilitated by William T. Lewis, PhD, this discussion will provide strategies for how faculty and staff can create an academic environment of belonging for all students.

Keynote Address: What Does Belonging Look Like at St. Ambrose University?

7:00 p.m.
This keynote address by Lewis will include the current state of race relations in the United States, including Supreme Court decisions on Affirmative Action in college admissions and attacks on DEI efforts at businesses, universities, and government offices. In addition, strategies for how communities can create space for open and honest dialogues on these issues will be addressed.

A speaker from the museum will be on campus on April 5 - more information to come. The African American Museum of Iowa traveling exhibit "Suspended: Systemic Oppression in Our Schools" is currently on display on the first floor of the Rogalski Center.

To reaffirm solidarity on campus, the Black Student Union of St. Ambrose University will be hosting its annual Unity March on April 12.
