Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's vision is to raise awareness by amplifying the voices of the stuttering community to break the stuttering stigma. Michael will speak to future and current SLPs on the topics of engaging in advocacy, education, and awareness of stuttering. Michael will also talk about his experiences surrounding stuttering, and how it has shaped his passions, such as creating the foundation - Change & Impact: Voices for Stuttering.

Michael was drafted to the NBA in 2012. Since then he has played for the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets, Dallas Mavericks, and the New York Knicks. Michael is actively involved in serving communities around the United States and regularly advocates at Capital Hill. As a person who stutters, Kidd-Gilchrist has also served as an ambassador to the stuttering community. In 2021, he founded Change & Impact, Inc. a stuttering initiative with a mission to improve access to healthcare and expand services and resources for those who stutter. He regularly appears nationwide as a guest speaker to educate future professionals who will work with individuals who stutter.
